About us
The Tricky Cider Company was formed in 2004 by Steve Watkins (the hairy one) and Alistair Brice (the big fella).
Through our passion for cider and our love of the traditional processes of making it, which has always been an art form, we were determined to preserve the art of traditional cider making.
Having made cider as a hobby for many years, the time was right to start getting seriously tricky (Tricky Cider was originally made at Tricky Warren Farm).
The old wooden twin screw press was sidelined for village cider making in Als back yard, and new (well new to us) equipment was acquired and installed in a unit at a nearby farm (we refer to it as a secret location somewhere on the Blackdown Hills). It has been a bit of a struggle trying to juggle the ‘day jobs’ but we are going from strength to strength! We much prefer the cider business.
You will find us on a Sunday afternoon down in Als back yard, chatting about cider, having the craic, everyone is welcome and, of course we drink a bit of cider. So, see you down the yard sometime.
Cheers — Steve and Al
